What did I do Today?
Good Morning!!!
I woke up early this morning thinking about yesterday. What did I accomplish? Who did I help out? Did I spend time doing something just for me?
The answer to each one of these was answered. I cleaned up and got rid of old papers that were taking up space and only reminded me of the past.
When I went for a walk, I had $2.00 in my pocket. I stopped in a store to buy a bottle of water, but as I left the store, I noticed a homeless person sitting next to a garbage can for shade. I knew right away I was going to give the bottle of water to that person because he needed it more than me. I could suffer walking a few more blocks and drink a glass of water when I got back to where I live.
A lady saw me and said that was a very gracious thing to do and said she was going to do the same thing but I beat her to it. She offered to buy me lunch at a nearby restaurant, which I initially refused, but she insisted because she wanted to do something nice in return for me. The first thing that was brought to the table was a pitcher of water. So the world gave me that water that I originally meant to buy for myself.
This series events would have never happened had I not made the first move, which was simply to give the homeless person a cold bottle of water on a very hot day.
We never know when someone is watching us but it is when we react to what others do can change how a person feels about himself in a positive or negative manner. In my case, it was a very positive chain of events that started from me being hot while out taking a walk.
Today I would like to share a website that also has an app you can download on your phone called BetterHelp.
The website says BetterHelp will provide feedback, guidance and advice from one of 2,000 licensed therapists. Although I have not yet perssonallly tried the app or the website, I feel this would be a great way for us as men to get the therapy we may want but do not seek because it make us feel weak. This is a great method to privately seek the help we need without having to go sit in an office. Here is a link to the site below. If you try it, let me know what your experience was like.
