Potential

Image
Happy Thursday! Potential is something that each and every one of us has. There are some of us that feel we have potential, but we try something and fail. Does this really mean  that we are a failure? No. What it does mean is that in order to reach our potential we may have to fail. Failure does not indicate never reaching our potential. Failure is just a means of finding another way or changing the path we attempted to travel. To tap the potential that lies inside we have to make adjustments. Life can destroy us if we let it, but if we take what life throws at us and use it to realize we may just have to go another direction is success. Take some time and realize your potential. Understand your self worth and fill your bucket. We all have the ability to reach our potential.     Have a great day and think about the potential you have within yourself. As Always, Ali

Enjoy the outdoors!

"The family circle has widened.  The worldpool of information fathered by the electric media... far surpasses any possible influence mom and dad can now bring to bear.  Chcaracter is no longer shaped by only two ernest, fumbling experts.  Now all the world's a sage." - Marshall McLuhan (1967). Although today is Labor Day and there are many who celebrate by participating in an outdoor activity, almost everyone remains connected by some type of electronic device, which is more than likely a smart phone. Even though many parents and guardians will attempt to disconnect children and yound adults from social media, odds are many will find it "impossible".  The quote by Marshall McLuhan used at the beginning had an amazing take on the direction the world was heading.  Media and communications technology were changing way we were and our perseption of the world. Take some time today to detach from the smartphones and social media.  Show those that we can...

Labor Day

Hello! Hope you are enjoying your Labor Day Weekend. Just like many of you out there, I hate to see summer coming to an end. But with every end comes a new beginning. According to the United States Department of Labor, Labor Day is defined as "The first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country." Take some time to reflect and think about your own personal achievements.  Think about the contributions you have made, no matter how big or small. Remember you are an important part of society and the work put in will eventually pay off. Use this time to fill your bucket, and reenergize yourself for that next push. Refresh yourself not just physically, but mentally. Go outside, get away technology, and enjoy what the world has to offer. ...

Today is a good day!

Yesterday I had the oportunity to talk on my friend's radio show. Having a chance to talk about "making a comeback" and living each and everyday to its fullest was a great experience. Today is a new day.  The start of a long weekend for many.  Labor Day Weekend.  Start of the college football season.  Bar-B-Ques.  Family.  Friends.  Being outdoors.  Parties. For others, this weekend may mean having the opportunity to unwind and release the stress accumulated during the week. Find something that you enjoy and do it. Live life and take time to reflect. I hope you all have a great weekend! As Always, Ali
