Enjoy the outdoors!
"The family circle has widened. The worldpool of information fathered by the electric media... far surpasses any possible influence mom and dad can now bring to bear. Chcaracter is no longer shaped by only two ernest, fumbling experts. Now all the world's a sage." - Marshall McLuhan (1967).
Although today is Labor Day and there are many who celebrate by participating in an outdoor activity, almost everyone remains connected by some type of electronic device, which is more than likely a smart phone.
Even though many parents and guardians will attempt to disconnect children and yound adults from social media, odds are many will find it "impossible". The quote by Marshall McLuhan used at the beginning had an amazing take on the direction the world was heading. Media and communications technology were changing way we were and our perseption of the world.
Take some time today to detach from the smartphones and social media. Show those that we can influence the world around them. What activities would you do if the electricity was off? The luxury of going to a restaurant or grocery store was not an option. Systems disrupted the use of a smartphone.
Enjoy the day and find time to disconnect. Observe the world and show others what is being missed because of worries about someone liking a picture or a comment that was made.
For one day narrow the world and do something that will become a memory, not a just another snap or like.

Have a great day!
As Always,
